We focus on cooperation and orders directly from individuals, small businesses (manufacturers, farms, e-commerce companies, service providers, etc.), sole traders, self-employed persons (lawyers, attorneys, translators, authors, etc.), but in some cases we can by agreement also consider cooperation with a larger company.

Types of services: 

1. Literary editing and/or proofreading of written works and translations in accordance with the basic principles of the Latvian language - grammar, style, literary expression and terminology, especially if your texts have been translated from a foreign language or produced with the help of machine translation. You will be assisted by a professional editor who is a native speaker of Latvian.  "Eli Compass" focuses on translations from German into Latvian, but can also help you edit texts already translated from Russian or English, or any other language, to avoid errors in Latvian grammar and literary style, for example before publishing in the media or sending to partners in Latvia.

2. Content editor services in Latvian. "Eli Compass" can help you create original content, for example, for a website or edit already prepared articles (press release, advertisement, public letter, opinion piece, etc.) for publication in mass media (including social networks) according to Latvian grammar and literary style. "Eli Compass" can also help if you need proofreading, literary editing and proofreading of an e-book, booklet, newsletter, etc. We focus on individual short-term projects, not the development of long-term content marketing that can be provided to you by advertising or public relations companies. We are interested in specific short-term pieces, where the individual services of a professional editor are required.

3. Translation of legal contracts from German into Latvian, as well as legal editing and/or proofreading of these translations or comparison and evaluation of the conformity of the contract texts in both languages - German and Latvian. We would like to emphasize that we focus on legal contracts related to business, sale and purchase agreements, real estate contracts, cooperation and export agreements, employment contracts, complaints, insolvency claims, etc. In cooperation with our legal partners and consultants, we not only provide professional legal editing and/or proofreading of the translation, but also the preparation of contracts only in Latvian.

4. Assistance to individuals in very simple translations, for example, translation of a private or official letter, complaint or offer of cooperation from German into Latvian, as well as, taking into account the level of complexity of the text, from Latvian into German.

"Eli Compass" is ready to listen and consider other ideas and needs of our clients, deciding together on the possibilities of cooperation, as long as the client feels and thinks that we can help them achieve their goals with our knowledge and professional experience. "Eli Compass" is ready to cooperate on freelance projects with book publishers and translation agencies in Riga.

We do not notarize translations. If you need a notarized translation, contact a notary or one of the major translation agencies. Eli Compass's translations from German into Latvian (in some cases also from Latvian into German) can be officially confirmed with the translator's signature, which will certify the correctness and conformity of the translation to the original, such as the translation of the legal contract from German into Latvian.
